There is a wide range of activities available to you at The Sanctuary, either in the retreat or out and about whilst exploring the stunning Bay of Islands.  We are only too happy to help you find something for you to enjoy.

At The Sanctuary we encourage you to spend your time as you wish and how you feel… how it best serves you.

Being on holiday can be exhausting.  Often guests visiting have either just flown half way across the world and are jet lagged or are at the end of their vacation and just want some time out to “relax, renew and revive.”

We have a select few therapists available by appointment, who are trained in various fields including:

  • Therapeutic or Relaxation Massage
  • Accupuncture
  • Craniosacral Therapy
  • Yoga
  • Beauty Treatments

Relax

There is ample opportunity to sit on the beach at Paihia or unwind in The Sanctuary’s infinity pool while sipping one of those intruigingly-named wines.

The Sanctuary makes a point of offering local wines at table, too.

Massage & its benefits…

Massage treatments are available in-house upon request.

Massage is the manipulation of superficial and deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue using various techniques, providing relief and relaxation to the mind and body.

Regular Massage may produce a meditative state or heightened awareness of living in the present moment,  can provide emotional and spiritual balance, bringing with it true relaxation and peace.

Yoga & its benefits…

Yoga sessions are available in-house upon request.

Yoga is a commonly known generic term for physical, mental, and spiritual disciplines which originated in ancient India.

Long slow breathing that moves the diaphragm calms the alarm signals, down grades the stress hormones, and tells you that you are safe.

Learn how to breathe beneficially to relieve stress in your physical body in order for the mind to relax.

Maintaining a daily practice of complete, harmonious breathing alongside an appropriate yoga routine is essential for a stress free body and a calm relaxed mind.
